Cervantes & Jurien Bay.

Cervantes was established in 1962 to serve the people engaged in Cray fishing. Cervantes is named after an American whaling ship "Cervantes" a two masted barque, wrecked nearby on 29th June 1844.

                                                         Cervantes beach & jetty.

A barge stuck on the Reef, it was on its way from Freemantle to Barrow Island, it's towing cable snapped in strong winds. It has been stuck for 10 days now. They have flown in experts from American to re float it.

The Old Jetty at Jurien Bay.

The New Jetty - Jurien Bay.

Steve on the Jetty at Jurien Bay.

Jurien Bay is a relaxed fishing town. The beaches are long and sandy (with a bit of weed). Steve snorkelled the jetty and although the viz was not to good, he did see a sea lion.
